The Position:

Opportunity for an experienced IT leader in new position of Head of School (Information Systems) to provide academic leadership, assist with the implementation of strategic plans and ensure that courses of study are delivered effectively to ensure a positive student experience.

You will have responsibility for managing all academic areas of the School of Information Systems. Reporting to the Dean, the role will be to manage all academic staff (full-time, part-time and sessional) in the School of Information Systems and ensure all relevant academic governance activities are in place. The Head of School will be considered a “champion” for scholarly activity and be expected to play an active role in external academic and professional activities to enhance the reputation of the College.

The Head of School will be expected to play a significant role in ensuring compliance with the HESF2021 and the relevant ESOS National Code standards whilst ensuring that all courses within the School are contemporary, modern and innovative in preparing students to be equipped learners.

The position will work closely with the Dean to ensure a cohesive approach is applied across all academic functions of the School of Information Systems. The role will require a teaching component.

 

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Lead the development of  comprehensive and pedagogically sound learning material
  • Lead the evaluation of program and course curricula
  • Provide leadership, promoting an accountable, collegial, student-centred culture
  • Take ownership of the relevant components of the OGSM, T&L Plan and Strategic Plan and embed goals and measures within performance goals for academic staff
  • Establish and maintain a strong culture of academic scholarship and engagement
  • In conjunction with the Dean, develop strategies for successful academic on-boarding of new students, and provision of course-specific transition advice for final-year students
  • Contribute to the induction of new academic staff, ensuring the School is sufficiently resourced with teaching staff to ensure a SSR of 30:1 is maintained at all times
  • Monitor institutional key performance indicators (KPI’s) and academic governance key indicators
  • Develop sustainable partnerships with key external stakeholders
  • Teaching of selected units.

This role will require the incumbent to perform the duties in the physical office unless otherwise agreed with the Dean and/or CEO. At the direction of the company, this role may from time to time be required to work remotely (away from the physical office location). Regardless of work location key targets, tasks, goals and projects must be delivered in accordance with position description and area or entity OGSM (Objective, Goals, Strategies and Measures).

 

About You:

Qualifications, technical skills, and experience required for this role include:

  • Qualification required: AQF10 qualification in an Information Systems related field
  • Qualification preferred: Graduate Certificate in T&L (Higher Education) or equivalent
  • Demonstrated teaching experience in an Information Systems related field

The Position:

The Director of Canada Recruitment position offers the opportunity for an experienced sales and marketing professional to build their career with an exciting global education group. The primary purpose of the role is to lead the Acsenda and Arbutus recruitment teams and EduCo Canada’s global recruitment initiatives to support the growth strategies of both schools and work closely with the Registrar and the Admissions teams to ensure quality outcomes that meet the recruitment objectives of Acsenda and Arbutus. This role will supervise in-market staff and their local agency networks to drive new student recruitment to Acsenda and Arbutus from both onshore and offshore regions by:

  1. Supervision of regional marketing managers based in key source regions
  2. Deepening pre-existing relationships with agency directors and counsellors via consistent communication and support
  3. Onboarding new agent referrals
  4. Sourcing high-potential new partnerships for cold-calling
  5. Hosting informational and promotional events and webinars for agents and students
  6. Overseeing the pipeline management and conversion of applicants from the assigned territories
  7. Ensuring compliance with the International Education Code of Practice and EQA obligations under the responsibility of Acsenda and Arbutus are maintained at all times.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

This role is accountable to increase the volume of international student applications and enrolments from both emerging and established source markets to each of the EduCo Canada institutions. This will be achieved through:

  • Development and execution of the overall EduCo Canada Recruitment Plan for onshore and offshore markets, including the establishment and monitorisation of agency performance tiers in line with the quality assurance obligations and recruitment priorities of Acsenda and Arbutus
  • Supervision and mentorship of regional marketing managers based in Vancouver and Latin America (among others)
  • Supervision and mentorship of a team of Regional Managers to execute a coherent and impactful strategy for boosting productivity from emerging markets such as Colombia, Brazil, Mexico, Turkey, Korea, Japan, and Eastern Europe
  • Supervision and mentorship of the onshore recruitment team which focus on international students already based in Canada who would like to commence academic programs at Acsenda and Arbutus
  • Business development with pre-existing agency agreements in established, emerging and onshore markets
  • Business development with newly referred agents, including independent identification and outreach to additional potential agents in the defined territory for contract completion and business development
  • Representation on behalf of Acsenda and Arbutus at agent-channel and b2c events (virtually during the COVID-19 pandemic and in-person once offshore travel resumes)
  • In collaboration with the EduCo Canada pipeline management staff, conduct weekly oversight of the following processes for all prospective students from the defined territory: Efficient submission of complete applications; admissions decision turnaround times, completion of the deposit, visa, and arrival processes by committed students per the requirements of the policies of Acsenda and Arbutus
  • Ensure that the marketing and promotion to prospective international students includes clear, sufficient, and accurate information enabling those students to make informed choices about the services provided and is approved by Campus leadership per the obligations under the EQA requirements and regulatory standards
  • Through ongoing quality assurance reviews with campus leadership, ensure any agent or recruiter engaged in advertising, admissions or recruitment activities on behalf of the institutions make available and communicates current and accurate information regarding the institution’s quality assurance requirements, admission policies, language proficiency requirements, credential assessment, programs and instruction and courses, services, tuition, refund policies, terms, grading and academic standing policies, and operating policies
  • Oversight of marketing and recruitment event budgets for all staff reporting to this role, including analysis of return on investment from recruitment travel, college fairs, social media campaigns, etc.

Qualifications, technical skills, and experience required for this role include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (required)
  • A valid passport and willingness to travel to the defined territory post-pandemic (required)
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience working in university admissions/enrolment management (required)
  • Demonstrated history of engagement with international students and/or foreign cultures (required)
  • Familiarity with a range of software packages, including PowerPoint and spreadsheets (required).

The Operations Officer is primarily responsible for submitting applications received from the Global Admissions Team and for disseminating partner information (program and entry requirements updates from the universities etc.) to EduCo  recruitment and conversion teams. The Operations Officer will need to understand the educational systems of the countries  which source international students to partner Universities. The role also has the responsibility for dealing with CSO/RM’s and have effective communication with course coordination of University International Office and Institution Relations Managers.

 

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Data entry for both Undergraduate and Postgraduate Applications
  • Data Integrity checks to ensure data entered matches documents provided
  • Process the applications and response to inquiries within the required turnaround time
  • Provide a customer focused quality evaluation and advisory service to prospective and current students, agents and the public, generally on all aspects of the University’s admission requirements, policies, procedures and entry pathways
  • Be accountable for data integrity of student records in the Salesforce, University Website and any other systems
  • Maintain up to date knowledge with changes in relation to international qualifications, education systems and  institutions credentials
  • Assist the Global Admissions Team as required
  • Forwards Updates from Portal, letter of offer, letter of acceptance and any other admission documents to relevant  EduCo recruitment/conversion staff with the aim of rapidly converting students
  • Updates enrolment status of students in Salesforce, from application to commencement
  • Generates customized reports as per requirements of relevant manager.
