Seattle Pacific University: Alternative Requirements

Final semester transcripts & graduation diploma

• Flexible about collecting final year 12 transcripts/diploma
• Can be accepted and enroll first, then provide these documents later in the fall

SAT/ACT

• Not required for admission or scholarships

English proficiency alternatives

• Now accepts Duolingo 105 for direct entry

I-20/visa timeline

• No change to the I-20 process
• Electronic I-20s will be issued so that students can schedule visa appointments
• If paper I-20 is needed later, it will be sent by SPU as normal

Arrival & orientation timeline

• Orientation on 21 September 2020
• Classes begin on 28 September 2020

GRE/GMAT Requirement

• Seattle’s Graduate Business School (SBGE) has made GRE/GMAT scores optional for the 2020-21 academic year for otherwise strong applicants

English proficiency alternatives

• Seattle’s Graduate Business School (SBGE) will now accept Duolingo 115 or higher (in addition to normal TOEFL/IELTS requirements)

WES Evaluation

• SPU’s School of Business, Government and Economics (SBGE) has provided additional clarification about if/when a WES transcript evaluation is needed. See official communication here.

• Four-year Undergraduate degrees from accredited colleges and universities no longer require a WES evaluation. WES evaluation is also not required for students with 3-year Undergraduate degrees from Indian colleges/universities that meet these 3 criteria:
  • Recognized by NAAC
  • Hold an accreditation grade of A++/A+/A
  • Student graduated with first class / first division marks
