SCU Sydney students conferred degrees in Lismore, Gold Coast

Grace Yuan was conferred her degree by Deputy Chancellor and Deputy Chair of Council Murray d’Almeida

Two Southern Cross University Sydney graduates Ying “Grace” Yuan and Jivan Bhattarai revently marched across the stage for Graduation, celebrating with other graduates from Southern Cross University Lismore and Southern Cross University Gold Coast campuses.

Ying “Grace” Yuan, a graduate of Bachelor of Business, was conferred the degree by Deputy Chancellor and Deputy Chair of Council Murray d’Almeida during the 12 April graduation rites at the Southern Cross University Lismore campus.

Grace has served as a member of the Student Representative Council in various capacities for a long time. According to Student Services Officer Fanglong “Kyle” Luo, “She was a positive model for other students not only because of her outstanding academic achievement but her willingness to help others as a student volunteer during orientation volunteering and other campus activities.”  Grace was offered a job after participating in SCU’s Employability Quest program.

Jivan Bhattarai is also a graduate of Bachelor of Business. He was conferred the degree by Chancellor and Chair of Council Nick Burton Taylor AM during the 22 March graduation rites at the Southern Cross University Gold Coast campus.

Just like Grace, Jivan also served as a member of the Student Representative Council for a few years. He was also very active in helping other students and participated in campus activities whilst succeeding in his studies.

Graduating students in the Sydney, Melbourne and Perth campuses can choose to have their graduation ceremonies at Southern Cross University’s main campuses in Lismore, Coffs Harbour and the Gold Coast.  This can be done either by registering their preferred graduation location under My Enrollment or communicating directly with the Graduation Office.
