The University of Nebraska–Lincoln has kicked off its series of information sessions through the web for new international students. The students are expected to arrive in the United States this August, in preparation for classes to start this fall season.
The first of the series of webinars, “Preparing for the Visa Process,” was hosted by International Engagement Coordinator Rachel Lindhart, International Recruitment Specialist Brent Schmoker and International Student and Scholar Office Director Karen Cagley. The team discussed the steps in preparing for the visa interview.
The presenters also tackled pre- and post-arrival issues and outlined their support services like help with documents and orientation upon arrival on campus. The webinar allowed participants from various parts of the world to ask questions and get them answered in real time.
This webinar was followed closely by “Life in Lincoln” which generally tackled campus life, weather, destinations, activities and events that make up the culture in the city of Lincoln. This info session was moderated by Julia de la Rosa, graduate assistant for International Programs.
Two upcoming webinars, “How to Enrol in Classes” and “Safety in Lincoln” have been slated on 1 May and 8 May, respectively, both at 8:00AM Central Time. Students may register by emailing: firstname.lastname@example.org and visiting this link: https://nse.unl.edu/international/info-sessions/
All incoming international students and Educo Customer Service Officers (CSOs) are encouraged to attend the sessions.
