Dear valued partners,

We hope that you and your families are coping well with these strange and challenging circumstances. We hope that you, and those that are dear to you, are not dealing with any COVID-19 related health issues at this time.

We understand that the impact of the global pandemic has created an environment of uncertainty, especially for your organisations and for students planning to study in 2020-2021. Therefore, we wanted to take this opportunity to share with you the decisions that Dublin City University has taken regarding the 2020-2021 academic year.

To ensure that non-EU postgraduate students have the opportunity to start their academic courses in September 2020 and still complete on time, DCU is introducing the “On Time/Online” initiative. This means that all postgraduate provisions for non-EU students will be delivered online for the first semester and will move to an on-campus provision for the second semester and dissertation/practicum period.

This includes the DCU International Foundation Program for postgraduate students (the Pre-Master’s) and undergraduate students. Students will be able to take their first semester online, move on-campus for their second semester and then progress to their chosen destination degree on-campus as normal in September 2021.

It is important to note that not all postgraduate programs will be available in the On Time/Online model. You will find the list of programs being offered and other detailed information here. We will, of course, allow students with accepted conditional or full offers to defer to 2021-2022 if they would prefer. You will find a dedicated web page by DCU here. An FAQ page has also been provided to answer many of your, and your students’, questions. We will also follow up this communication with a series of webinars that will provide a forum to understand the information and ask questions. We will be in touch regarding dates and times as soon as possible.

We will be sending direct communication to all offer holders with this information later this week, but wanted to share it with you in advance to address any questions.
