University students and fresh graduates can definitely strut with confidence to their internship interviews, class presentations, and job hunting after being given professional advice on how to dress the part.
To make this happen, the school’s Career Services facilitated a tie-up with clothing line JC Penney which in turn hosted a well-attended event aptly labeled “Suit Up” at a mall in Lincoln.
The 670 students who attended the event were given tips on how to dress up for various occasions and look presentable and – in some instances – probably even turn heads, for the right reasons.
Ever-conscious of their market, the fashion line’s representatives also offered huge discounts on clothing and accessories and even included salon-sleek haircuts for only $10.
“The timing for the spring event [held this month] was a little later in the semester to look ahead more for students who have summer internships [June to August] and for new graduates who are beginning their careers,” says Bill Watts, director of university advising and career services.
