Computer Science & Software Engineering program comes with 6-month industry placement and a major project

International students of Maynooth University who enrol in a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Software Engineering through Arts will be assured of a 6-month industry placement and a chance to work on a major project in their final year. They will also enjoy the huge benefit of mixing computer science with arts subjects as this gives them a better perspective of how their course impacts society in general.
In their first year under the program, students will study another Arts subject or Critical Skills with Computer Science and Mathematics. They will study all the essentials of computing and software and acquire hands-on programming skills and advanced problem solving techniques in the university’s Eolas computer science building, a €20M state-of-the-art ICT hub, which opened in 2015. The university’s new laboratories and modern equipment also provide students with an excellent environment for practical and lab work.
The key takeaway for this programme is the challenge for students to complete a major project and the opportunity to participate in a 6-month industry placement. Both provide international students with an opportunity to prove their skills and competencies that can open doors for greater employability.
Maynooth’s Programming Support Centre provides a supportive and enjoyable environment for learning, with extensive assistance extended to students doing their practical work. They are also available outside of lectures to assist and guide students.
