Arbutus College, an EduCo institution offering vocational courses in Canada, has opened evening classes for its new hospitality management programs. The Advanced Diploma in Hospitality Management requires eight months of academic studies. The Advanced Co-op Diploma in Hospitality Management requires eight months of academic studies and another eight months of co-op experience.
The evening schedules are available from Monday through Friday from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. for the first three months from 6:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. in the succeeding months. The first intake starts on 2 July.
Advanced Diploma in Hospitality Management
The Advanced Diploma in Hospitality Management is designed to equip graduates with both applied and theoretical hospitality management skills necessary to compete successfully in a highly-competitive, global environment. Students will learn from experts in the field how to understand the complex needs of hotel visitors, with an emphasis on resolving problems and elevating the overall hotel experience.
Advanced Co-op Diploma in Hospitality Management
The Advanced Co-op Diploma in Hospitality Management has is similar to the advanced diploma program with the addition of another eight months for practical work experience.
Admission and completion requirements
Students need a high school diploma and an IELTS score of 5.0 or its equivalent to be admitted into the program. For program fees and other requirements, education agents and students can contact their EduCo representative. At the end of the 8-month and 16-month periods, students are expected to have completed all program credits with an overall grade point average (GPA) of at least 60% (or C-).
21 transferable credits to a bachelor’s degree
If students wish to proceed to a bachelor’s degree after completing either program at Arbutus College, they can transfer 21 credits to Acsenda School of Management which offers the Bachelor of Hospitality Management.
Career opportunities
Graduates of the program will have opportunities to work in the hospitality management industry as accommodation service managers and general office and administrative support staff.
