February has been a busy month for students of Acsenda School of Management. They marked the Lunar New Year on 5 February and Valentine’s Day on 14 February with a get-together, sharing greetings, gifts and food over fun and games. Both events were shared with Acsenda faculty and staff.
Acsenda especially held the celebration of the Lunar New Year to honour international students’ cultural beliefs and practices. Similarly, Valentine’s Day was marked with students and staff getting together in the campus lounge to share a meal and greet each other a “Happy Valentine’s Day!” to mark the day of love.
Holding events like these is also the institution’s way of engaging students and getting them to actively build connections. The Lunar Year and Valentine’s Day celebrations are just some of the activities that students participate in. Every month, the campus holds activities to support students as they expand their network and share their experiences.
Other activities completed in February include a Student Award and Appreciation Day, Pizza with the President, Garbage Awareness Week, Inspire and Aspire Speaker Series and Canada Revenue Agency Info Session on the filing of taxes for newcomers.
To cap the month’s events, there will be an Immigration Workshop on 27 February. Upcoming events for March will be posted soon.
