Vancouver: a top international student city

Canada is quickly becoming one of the world’s most popular international student destination countries – and it’s easy to see why.

For international students, there are many incentives to choosing to study in Canada including the friendly and welcoming environment the country offers. For many students, the opportunity to work while studying and having their qualification recognised worldwide after graduating is also an appealing factor. In fact, across all student destination cities globally, Vancouver has been ranked 10th in QS Best Student Cities 2017. It received this ranking due to these factors and also the high quality of living residents of the city experience. In fact, Vancouver has been voted the world’s third most liveable city by the Economist Intelligence Unit.

Vancouver’s location in Canada is also ideal; on the western seaboard, it has a large port and extensive waterfront and is often referred to as the Gateway to the Americas and the Pacific Rim. Not only this, but it is a scenic city – high rise buildings have a backdrop of the North Shore Mountains to frame them.

Both Arbutus College and Acsenda School of Management are located in the downtown district of Vancouver, which is a hub for events, transport and business. Business communities from around the world are now choosing Vancouver as their base, with the city being home to many software, biotechnology and aerospace companies, and a hub for video game development, animation studios, and the television and film industries.
