Prior to joining EduCo as the inaugural CEO in 2010, Mr. Allen served as COO of a diversified education company with responsibility for the operations spanning China, Australia, the U.S., New Zealand and India with a staff of more than 1,000.He was the inaugural general manager of ACT Education Solutions, Limited, the international arm of U.S.-based ACT Inc., one of the world’s largest test and test development companies. Mr. Allen’s experience spans 30 years, with 24 of those in general management and chief executive roles in private and public companies. Mr. Allen has established and managed companies in Australia and 14 other countries.
Prior to joining EduCo, Darren had fifteen years' experience as a corporate advisor leading finance, strategy and merger and acquisition assignments for education and other clients across a range of industries. He is a former chairman of an ASX listed company and mergers and acquisitions solicitor for leading law firms. Darren manages the treasury and group finance activities and is responsible for all corporate development opportunities including mergers, acquisitions, partnerships and greenfields opportunities. Darren has honours degrees in both Commerce (Accounting and Finance) and Law from Monash University.
Roelof has been the Managing Director of EduCo Australia since June 2012. In this role, he is responsible for business operations and growth strategy. He has over 25 years international experience in senior business management roles. He is well recognised in the international education sector and brings a strong commercial expertise to the group. His experience encompasses managing a range of businesses. He has also held senior management positions at several other companies across 3 continents. Roelof qualified as a Chartered Accountant in South Africa and completed his Articles of Clerkship with PriceWaterhouse Coopers prior to entering commerce.
Prior to joining EduCo in 2012, Adam’s career included senior management roles in business development and marketing with Australian public universities including RMIT and Swinburne and numerous leading private providers. He has on the ground experience with international student recruitment from over 70 key student source markets and extensive knowledge of the recruitment channel management. As Senior VP of Global Marketing, Adam is responsible for management of EduCo’s recruitment and marketing teams in all markets.
Jim has spent 20 years in the education industry and most recently has held executive and general management positions with Ascend Learning and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. Over his career, Jim has worked extensively with U.S. secondary and post-secondary institutions and their leadership teams. Jim holds a Masters in Education and an MBA from Babson College.
Prior to joining EduCo, Sin May had over 20 years’ experience across all aspects of HR management spanning a number of industries including airline, retail, financial services, education and engineering sectors in Australia and South East Asia. Sin May leads the EduCo people and culture function providing generalist and organisation development support for business leaders.
Scott enjoyed a successful career in the hotel and hospitality management sector in Switzerland and Australia before entering the education industry ten years ago. Since that time, Scott has headed up large vocational training colleges for both international and domestic students and has worked with some of Australia’s largest corporate entities in providing employee training solutions. Since joining EduCo in 2014, Scott has been the General Manager of its Higher Education provider, Cambridge International College, and now as SVP of Global Business Services is responsible for infrastructure, procurement and business processes across the EduCo group.
Prior to joining CIC in August 2014, Peter was the Associate Dean (International & Development) for the Faculty of Science at La Trobe University. He has several years experience working in the international education sector as an academic and university representative. Prior to that he spent 10 years working as a biomedical research scientist both in Australia and abroad. He has been involved in university wide curriculum reform and a member of several University course review panels and is on the TEQSA register of experts
Jacob developed the original business plan for EduCo in Ireland and is the inaugural Senior Vice President for Ireland. Previously he led all Asia Pacific investment activity for Pearson’s corporate VC fund (“PALF”), including the fund’s largest deal and first greenfield project, a $3m investment in a low cost private school chain in the Philippines which grew to 22 schools and 4,500 students in 2 years. He started his career teaching history and politics in the UK and has been a founding director of two London schools. The most recent, One Degree Academy, opened in September 2016.
